Internship:
The kind of qualities i am looking for is to try a different environment that's not school. Because i already tried the environment of a school. So i might want to intern at a place where its more hand on things for me to do. I expect to each day work on something i am interested on. because i don't want an internship where i don't enjoy my time there. Also that its not in my way of a better opportunity i can be taking advantage of. The kind of mentor i want to have is a nice one. Also that he understands my goals and that help me enjoy the time i spend there. The career or field i am most interested in working is on design. So for example, i really like the interior design inter ship. But the question is will i find a place like that anywhere close to here? if not that i really don't mind where else. i would just want an internship i enjoy doing, and spending my time there.

Internship:
So this week blog is suppose to be for me to write an introduction for my internship. I have to hook the reader so that they would want to intern at UPA. Here goes my thesis:

Do you like working with students? Have you ever even tried working with them? Well if you're looking for an internship to work with students choose UPA. Upa is Located on  3031 E. 18Th Street here in Oakland. Upa's mission is to develop scholars, warriors, and artists who are prepared for success in college and are community leaders. Upa serves 300, students, grades 6-8. It has 10% African-American, 83% Latino, and 8% Asian American. I like Interning at UPA because the community is helpful, you learn big skills that can help you in the future, and you have fun.

Hook:
How would you feel if you where pregnant and didn't want the baby for various serious reasons, and couldn't abort because of the parental consent laws and everyday that passes without you being able to abort, you’re risking your own life? What would you do? Parental consent laws where passed in the 1987 by the California Legislature but the California Supreme court overturned the law here in California that does not require a minors parent consent or judges approval for the abortion. Today it continues to be introduced on the California ballot as a proposition. Even though in the 2008 it was defeated, it received 48% of the vote. Which means that some people today don’t understand the high risks of it being passed here in California or anywhere. Parental consent laws for abortions should not be legalized because of the parent abuse, the delays, and the unsafe abortions. Those are only 3 of the many there is.

This is my hook for my essay, i hope this hooked you! Well what i think about this topic is that minors shouldn't need their parents consent because it hurts them by various reasons. For example they delay an abortion, if girls tell parents they might react the wrong way, and the girls frustrated or desperate will go to any place, even if its unsafe one! Those are the 3 most hurtful ones but their is much more reasons why parental consent laws should not be passed.

Internship:
Well today at my internship this week is going to be testing. So the schedule is kind of weird. But today when i came it it was most prep time. But at prep i helped my mentor with putting some things up for the next unit. After that, it was lunch. When i came back their was 20 minute more left of the prep. She told me that after that that 7a was going to come in. So i set up my class that i was going to teach. This class was suppose to focus on the there, their, and they're and i was suppose to help them define them. So when they are working on their work then they know which one is the correct one to put. As i got finished i figured that i had taught them well and that some of them really didn't know about the 3 different kinds. Then when i got done teaching the lesson to both groups i went back into the classroom and the class was working on writing a poem. So i just went around to help the students come up with ideas and help them get started or continue.
